Common Problems We Fix

Sound Like Your Heater?

Burner won’t ignite / no flame

Ignition electrodes, transformers, photocells, and control primaries. A heater that won’t light is our most common waste oil call — we diagnose the ignition circuit and get flame back.

Nozzle clogging or dirty burn

Waste oil is hard on nozzles. We clean, rebuild, and replace nozzles and preheaters so the burner atomizes properly and burns clean instead of coking up.

Oil won’t pump or feed

Fuel pumps, oil lines, filters, and preheater blocks that gum up on dirty oil. We rebuild the fuel side so oil flows to the burner at the right temperature and pressure.

Smoking, sooting, or short cycling

Combustion out of tune, dirty heat exchanger, or air-band and draft problems. We clean and re-tune combustion so the unit runs efficiently and passes a clean burn.

Boiler won’t hold temperature / no heat

Aquastats, circulators, zone valves, and heat exchanger issues on oil-fired boilers. We service the heat and hydronic controls to restore steady output.

Lockouts, faults, or dead controls

Primary controls, thermostats, limit switches, and wiring faults that lock the unit out. We troubleshoot the control system safely, in-shop or on-site.

Not on the list? If a waste oil heater or boiler does it, we’ve fixed it. Describe the problem and we’ll take it from there.
